Dr. Kennedy started at the Pipestone Vet Clinic in 1960 after graduating from Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. With four decades of experience there are few things that Dr. Kennedy has not seen before. He deserves credit for recruiting the current staff and shaping the practice into what it is today. He serves as the Managing Partner of the clinic and oversees the business on a daily basis. Dr. Kennedy has received numerous community and industry awards. He is a nationally recognized sheep Veterinary expert and has a regular column in the Banner publication. In addition to his expertise in sheep production and management he has coordinated international dairy cattle exports and oversees multiple production and business entities. Dr. Kennedy’s personal interests have always included raising purebred sheep. From Suffolks and Rambouillets to currently Dorpers “Doc” still is at it. In addition to lambing ewes in his spare time he and his wife Deb enjoy hunting and fishing and raising dogs, cats and birds on their farm near Pipestone. |

Dr. Spronk is a native to the Pipestone area. After completing Veterinary College at the University of Minnesota he returned to the Pipestone area to practice with Dr. Kennedy at the Pipestone Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Spronk was the co-founder of the “Pipestone System” of pig production. In 2000 he was named Swine “Practitioner of the Year” by the American Association of Swine Practitioners. In 1996-97 he served as President of the Society for Theriogenology, a national Veterinary organization for the advancement of animal reproduction and animal reproductive disease. He has lectured, visited or consulted internationally in ten countries on five continents. Dr. Spronk is responsible for much of the vision of the Pipestone Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Spronk and his wife, Deb, live near Pipestone and have three children, Courtney, J.J., and Morgan. In his free time Dr. Spronk enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. |

Dr. J.D. Bobb |
Dr. Bobb is a native of North Dakota. After growing up on a sheep farm Dr. Bob attended NDSU and ISU where he graduated from Veterinary College in 1990. After graduation he started at the Pipestone Veterinary Clinic with the particular expertise in sheep reproductive physiology and artificial insemination. He is a popular speaker at state and national sheep meetings. Dr. Bobb and his wife, Cindy, have three children, Lacy, Josh and Julie. They enjoy living on a farm near Pipestone and raising their kids, along with a flock of Rambouillet ewes and horses. |

Dr. B.R. Kerkaert

Dr. Kerkaert is a native of South Western Minnesota and started at the Pipestone Veterinary Clinic after graduating from Veterinary College at the University of Minnesota in 1994. In his short time at the Pipestone Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Kerkaert has become a well respected swine veterinary and production consultant throughout the upper Midwest. Dr. Kerkaert and his wife, Karen, have three children, Hayden, Jenna and Aubrey. |

Dr. J. L. Goelz

Dr. Goelz grew up on a diversified livestock farm in Southwestern Minnesota and began at the Pipestone Veterinary Clinic in 1996. He graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Goelz spends much of his time at the clinic supporting the sheep veterinary supply catalog and working with local clients. In his spare time Dr. Goelz enjoys spending time with his wife, Lori, and their daughter, Brooklyn on their small farm, raising Limousin cattle and Collie dogs and a few horses. |

Dr. Minion began at the Pipestone Veterinary Clinic in 2000 after graduating from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Minion’s areas of interest include production animal medicine, management and records analysis. Dr. Minion and his wife, Betsy, enjoy golfing and traveling and entertaining friends. |

Dr. C.S. Schmitt

Dr. Schmitt began in 2002 after graduating from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Schmitt grew up in Iowa and is no stranger to the profession as his father was a veterinarian in a mixed practice. Dr. Schmitt’s areas of interest include disease, diagnostics and laboratory testing. Dr. Schmitt enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Cassie, and their sons, Logan and Keegan. He also enjoys hunting and fishing and cheering for the ISU Cyclones.

Dr. C.W. Vlietstra |
Dr. Vlietstra grew up on a farrow-to-finish swine farm in Northwest Iowa. His wife, Jen, grew up on a large dairy farm in Northwest Iowa. Dr. Vlietstra graduated from Iowa State University in 2003. His primary interests lie in the areas of dairy production and management. In his spare time, he enjoys watching and participating in many sports, and spending time with his wife and two sons, Jake and Cade.
