Vaginal Prolapse

Standing on an inclined places cause more stress on the rectal and vaginal muscles predisposing sheep to prolapses.

Using an S-curve needle and umbilical tap to suture a ewe's vulva after correcting a vaginal prolapse. A box stitch is used with the needle inserted at the edge of the wooled area.
Completed box stitch. This can be tied snug to prevent reoccurrence of the prolapse. The stitch must be cut to allow the ewe to lamb.
