Hemonchus Contortus (barber pole worm)

Hemonchus Contortus is commonly known as the barber pole worm. Worms can be visualized by placing a portion of the abomasum of a dead lamb in a shallow pool of water. Sheep heavily parasitized by H.Contortus are weak, anemic, fail to thrive and can die suddenly.

Arrows indicate parasites.
